Why should I consider your services?
Because we are professional and actually care. But, of course, that is what everyone claims, so I should explain why we care: We care because our wedding was horrible, and everything that could go wrong went wrong. We care because our photographer didn’t turn up, our videographer screwed up the video, and the driver was 30 minutes late. Our wedding was a little traumatic, and it took us a decade to get over it. So, when we started shooting weddings we swore we’d never let anyone down, and so far we’ve fulfilled that promise. You don’t only deserve good photos on your day, but also to know that people will treat your day as if it was their own.
Who chooses which images you edit?
Due to our experience telling stories visually, and time constraints for our clients, we curate the best selection of their images. Our aim is to showcase each part of your wedding, and everyone who is key in those moments. This includes a heavy emphasis on you, as well as family and guests you ask us to focus on, but ultimately, every guest should appear in at least one photo.
Why do you work with a contract?
While it’s true that oral agreements and text messages may constitute a contract, we prefer to provide our clients with a formal document stating everything we’ll do, when and how. This includes how much we’ll charge, when we’ll deliver our work, and contingencies in case of major complications on either side. As a business we ask clients to pay a considerable amount of money, so it’s only right to provide you with some assurance. Weddings can be stressful, and a contract means one less thing you must worry about.
do you deliver all the photos taken?
We deliver the best selection of images, trying to capture all that is important and that which you descendants will cherish. Some of these photos are formal, with people posing and aware of the camera, while others are candid, without anyone realising we took their photo. In both cases we would take various shots, looking for that perfect expression or action, and making sure no one looks awkward or is blinking. There is little need to edit all these photos, when one or two tell the story well. Also, if we had to edit redundant images, the cost to you would grow exponentially, and weddings are already expensive enough.
Can i edit the raw files myself?
While we understand some clients are very artistic and technically savvy, us providing RAW files would be like a chef at a restaurant providing you all the elements for you to cook at home; you might make a good meal, but it will not really be the chef’s work. It’s possible that some photographers may be willing to do this, but it’s not an option we are contemplating at this point in time.
What advice would you give clients?
Shop around. Talk to people. See what photos you like and what you can afford. Define what you want and why before you reach out to photographers and other wedding professionals. You are, unfortunately, in a vulnerable position and many traders aim to shape and upsell YOUR wants. Most importantly, whatever decision you make, make it together. The dreams, people and finances may, at times, make this experience stressful, and in the end, all that’ll matter is your shared experience. So keep each other sane!
