The who, what and why of us

I don’t have enough photos of whom I love, or from key moments in my life. Some moments I let slip, thinking they’d come around again; some I could not shoot because I was a protagonist. And some have simply fallen into chasms, politely departing a busy mind. I don’t have enough photos of whom I love, but I hope to help others change that.

Is that the who, the why or the what? I loose track.

Photography is simple, and fun too. Writing About pages, on the other hand, is like writing love letters to someone you’re yet to meet. It’s silly, I know. But it’s true nonetheless. Here is the bit I tell you something that earns a smile. Here’s the bit I sell you an idea you can follow. And here’s where you lead. And here’s where I pounce… Except I don’t pounce, or can’t pounce, or both. I’m not a sales person, I’ve learned. It’s too bad too, as apparently it’s very important in business.

I like people, I like to photograph them and learn things I don’t know. I must charge money to pay bills and my kids’ addiction to eating every day. But if I could shoot for the love of it, shoot for that story I do not know, then I would. When I’m not shooting or editing, I write words that some find strange, and silently shout that I’m simply not for them. I write little words that hang beyond my frame, hoping someone sees them and says, “This sounds like someone I want to work with.”

Despite what you may now think, I’m a terribly normal, positively boring, not-crazy person. But I really dislike writing About pages, and this is what happens when I try. Also, I take good photos, so there’s that.

My photography Work

My work has developed over two decades, running the gamut of photography work. Today I focus on weddings and portraits, as these are the spaces where trust and empathy are the most important.
